As part of the Platinum Jubilee Cultural Programme in Bromley, Mytime Active is working in partnership with Bromley Council and GLL to offer an ArtsTrain programme for young people aged 11 to 16 years.
After delivering two successful ArtsTrain programmes during the Easter holidays at Bromley Central Library and Orpington Library, another ArtsTrain workshop is scheduled for Wednesday 1st June at Penge Library. This is a great opportunity for young people to work with music industry specialists and it’s free to register and take part. Read on for more information…..
The one-day ArtsTrain workshop will focus on song writing and music production. The session will be facilitated by two ArtsTrain Creative Practitioners – a Singer / Songwriter and a Music Producer. The Creative Practitioners will guide and support participants to express themselves, be creative, work collaboratively and to explore lyric writing and music production using music software.
ArtsTrain Practitioners are not only experts in their field they are also experienced in making their workshops interactive, inclusive, and fun. Participants will be encouraged to introduce, consider, and discuss a number of different themes and it’s from these discussions that the song writing, and music production flows.
At the Easter workshops participants explored the themes of wellbeing, friendship and growing up and wrote and produced three original songs using the themes as inspiration for their lyrics and music production.
Participants at Penge Library will be given the opportunity to perform the songs they have written and produced at the end of the day, if of course they feel confident / comfortable to do so.
