The Summer Reading Challenge is a nationwide reading scheme for children aged 4 - 11 to take part in throughout the summer holidays. The children are challenged to read 6 books within 8 weeks beginning on Saturday July 14th and in return receive free rewards to celebrate their achievement. At the end of the programme they receive a medal and a certificate. The Summer Reading Challenge is supported by national charity The Reading Agency.

Our summer programme of children's events and activities is listed below. New events are always being added to keep checking back. If you're at secondary school and looking for something to do over the summer then why not volunteer to help at your local library; speak to the Children's Librarian in your branch for more information.

We also have regular Baby Rhyme Time and Children’s Story Time sessions at all Wandsworth Libraries. Find out more at https://www.better.org.uk/news/baby-rhyme-time-and-story-time-in-wandsworth-libraries
