Visiting the LNER Community Stadium
Walking and Cycling to the LNER Community Stadium
There are a number of excellent on and off-road walking and cycling routes from York city centre, Huntington, Heworth and beyond. Over 300 cycle (uncovered) stands are positioned around LNER Community Stadium. All external areas are covered by CCTV.
The Monks Cross area is served by a number of bus routes, providing regular services from the city centre amd surrounding areas.
The most frequent, service 9, departs every 10 minutes from opposite York railway station.
Park & Ride
A dedicated match day Park and Ride shuttle service will run non-stop between Grimston Bar and the stadium before and after every match.
If you're travelling by car, please use the shuttle service as parking spaces within walking distance of the stadium are severely limited.
If you catch a taxi, we recommend using the North car park to drop off and pick up.
A dedicated area within the Monks Cross P&R site has 400 spaces for match day users. Tickets need to be purchased in advance from the clubs' website. A steward then scans the ticket in the car park.
Other car parks
The North car park (from Jockey Lane entrance) is for York Leisure Centre users only and will be managed by stewards on match days.
The East car park (next to the 3G pitches) is closed to the public on match days for match day staff and clubs. Blue badge holders can also gain access by booking directly with the clubs.
The cinema is serviced by South car park. Owned by a private company, no match day parking is permitted. Stewards will be present in the area on match days.
There is a maximum 2-hour parking restriction across the entire site, including Vangarde Shopping Park, controlled through ANPR cameras.
New parking restrictions will be implemented on the local road network, as well as some residential streets.
