WANNABE footballers from Socceroonies Soccer School were thrilled when they recently got the chance to meet Southend United midfielder Anthony Wordsworth at the club’s Roots Hall Stadium. Anthony Wordsworth used to play for Hawks Athletic.
The Football League star is once again set to be reunited with his old trainer, Tony Hassan, after showing his continued support at an annual charity match. Tony coached the 28-year-old when he played for Hawks Athletic as a kid in the Camden and Islington Youth League.
Tony, who runs the Socceroonies Soccer School, has revealed that he’s organised another game this summer to raise funds and awareness for both Mind and Narcolepsy UK. “Of course, we’re happy to be raising vital funds for both charities,” he said. “But the most important thing is to raise awareness of suicide and narcolepsy, that affect families around the world every day.”
The charity match will take place at Market Road in Islington on 18th June 2017.
