During the February half-term, we were once again able to run SEND swimming lesson crash courses. These lessons are specifically for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This is a program we are extremely proud of at the centre and the progression has been incredible, from running crash courses during half-terms, to running weekly lessons on Thursdays evening’s as well as regular 1-2-1 lessons with our experienced teachers.

This February half-term, we had 2 sets of crash courses; 5-8 and 9-15 years old. This is the first time we have managed to run 2 groups during the half-term of which the parents were extremely grateful for and the feedback we received was really positive. To follow on from this, most of the children are now booked into the weekly lessons with us here at the centre.

One of the parents came back to us and said;

Massive thank you to all of you from Chloe and me! She absolutely loved this week’s crash course! It was so nice to see her happy and engaging (and lovely to meet other parents of SEND children and worrying that she was going to be disruptive)! She’s very excited at the prospect of carrying on lessons.”

The teachers feedback was also really good and there is an understanding of how important these lessons are within the community. Providing these opportunities to children with SEND is extremely rewarding but as you can see from the comment above it shows how important these sessions are for the parents.
