Jubilee Weekend

Cherry Hinton Village Leisure Centre hosted two events over the jubilee weekend. Friday afternoon was 'The Vintage Tearooms' where the 'Young at Heart' ladies social group baked cakes and served tea and coffee to the local community. This also included a cake competition! It was a lovely afternoon with good weather a great success.

Saturday was 'Jubilee Day' a community day for the whole family, which included history walks around Cherry Hinton, children's entertainers, a story telling tent, 1950's tearoom, vintage stalls and a treasure trail. This was also a great day enjoyed by everyone.

The Village Centre also continues to host The 'Young at Heart' Ladies Social Club and the Men's Social Group on a Monday and Friday.

The Social Groups Annual BBQ

The 'Young at Heart' Ladies Social Club and the Men's Social Group met this month for their annual BBQ. Whist John and David took charge of the cooking duties, the ladies provided a wide range of homemade cakes for everyone to enjoy. It was an opportunity for both groups to meet together for the first time in 3 years, to talk about past experiences and future plans.

Both groups meet at Cherry Hinton Village Leisure Centre during the week. The 'Young at Heart' meet on Fridays from 2pm to 4pm, and the Men's Social Group meet on Mondays from 2pm t0 4pm. Activities range from playing games, watching movies, arts and crafts and having guest speakers.

If you would like to join either The 'Young at Heart' Ladies Social Club or The Men's Social Group, please contact the centre for more information.
