Maindy Centre would like to congratulate our Recreation Assistant Apprentice Chelsea for successfully completing her Level 2 Leisure Attendant qualification.

Chelsea is a high achieving member of staff with merits and distinctions throughout her Apprentice qualification.

We are proud that Chelsea has now been rewarded with a permanent contract at Maindy Centre as a Lifeguard.

However, it does not stop for Chelsea as she has just enrolled onto a Level 3 Leisure Management qualification which will see her undertake all aspects of Leisure managing and leadership over a 15 month learning period.

Both the Level 2 and Level 3 are delivered by the URDD in partnership with GLL Cardiff.

The Urdd offers free training through the medium of Welsh (or bilingually) to organisations across Wales through our Apprenticeship Scheme. The scheme is funded by the Welsh Government, meaning there is no cost to you or the apprentice.

Members of staff can undertake an apprenticeship whilst continuing with their present responsibilities, and as an employer you will directly benefit from their additional skills and qualifications. We can also help you to appoint a full-time apprentice in your organisation.

The apprenticeships last between 15-21 months, depending on the chosen course, and at the end of this period the apprentice will have Level 2 or 3 qualifications that are recognised in workplaces across the UK.

There are a number of apprenticeships that Urdd deliver: Activity Leadership, Sports Development, Outdoor programmes, Child Care and Youth Work.
