Bodmin LC Tennis Team, are excited to share with the Parkinson's communities their new 'Parky Tennis' taster sessions are now running weekly Thursday 2pm- 3pm.

After some taster weeks, we are now getting some core individuals attending the sessions.

The group are able to take things at their own pace, coaches being very aware of the potential symptoms of the condition, and therefore able to tapper the sessions.

This has all developed following an event held at the centre on 26th July, last month, as part of a series of events organised by Active Cornwall and the NHS.

Our very own Tennis Team provided some adapted tennis activity to those that attended the event, which was very well received.

Many of those that tried the tennis very surprised at the level of ability they had to have a go, and responded with the interest of attending a regular session.

A specific session that will be tailored at a level that would be appropriate, adapted so those attending will feel the benefits of engaging in exercise.

Parky Tennis will help those that attend to maintain strength, flexibility, balance, and cognitive acuity, which will in turn allow people to continue to do the things they want and need to do, and the things they enjoy and love to do.

All equipment is provided.

Wear comfortable clothing and footwear, trainers preferable.

These sessions will be followed by refreshments.

The cost of the session with be £5.20 payable at reception (Card payment only)

We are looking forward to welcoming you, and hope to see you at our first session.
