Celtic Warriors – Wheelchair Rugby at St Austell Leisure Centre

At St Austell Leisure Centre we have a team that trains in our Sports Hall every other Saturday for their Wheelchair Rugby sessions. They are called the Celtic Warriors.

Want to know more? Keep on reading for some more information about this amazing team.

Celtic Warriors – About us:

We are a club who aim to promote inclusion in sport for all.

We were founded in 2022 and are based in Cornwall.

We aim to promote physical and mental health within our local community through activities that are inclusive for all.

We are made up of individuals of all backgrounds, and welcome anyone to come and join us.

Having previously competed in the Warrior games, our chairman started this club to bring wheelchair rugby to the Cornish community to continue to grow the sport and have some fun along the way.

We are a Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby (GBWR) registered club and we have recently competed in our first development league in Plymouth against 3 other teams within the Southwest, and we look forward to doing even more soon and represent the Cornish community and hope to do them proud.

We also have some amazing sponsors behind us – Sports England, The Bruce Wake trust, and Ivor Dewdney.

We are currently training at the leisure centre on weekends - We have social media pages on Facebook, Instagram and a TikTok account where we post regular updates on training sessions, media and occasional bloopers. We are always happy to welcome new players so if you want to come along and give it a go, you can either message us on one of our social medias or email us at:
