Joshua Reibbitt is a Carlisle based athlete who competes and represents Carlisle Aspatria Athletics Club. Joshua has been a keen athlete for many years based at The Sheepmount, Carlisle. It has been great to see the outstanding progression made over the last few years. Credit to his youth development has to go to the local club coaches and his personal dedication to the sport he loves. Joshua specialises in Hammer throwing. He competes in numerous competitions throughout the year ranging from Schools Championships to Northern based competitions. There were many highlights covered for Joshua in the 2023 season and continuous Personal bests achieved throughout the year, demonstrating his constant progression in this discipline.

The 2023 season started well for Joshua by winning the Gold Medal in the County Championships in May. In July, Joshua was selected for the Cumbria Athletics Team to take part in the English Schools Championships and he gained the Bronze medal on this appearance. Back to representing his club Carlisle Aspartia in August Joshua had a superb weekend. It started with the Scottish National Championships in Grangemouth where Joshua secured the Gold medal. This was then followed up by Winning Gold once again in Middlesbrough at The Northern Athletics Championship.

Joshua continues to represent the Carlisle Aspatria athletics club along with the County. Along with his personal achievements he also contributes a lot to the Team whilst they compete in the Lower Youth Development League.

It is a duty for us at The Sheepmount to recognise talented athletes and direct them to a path for additional support. We often speak to the local coaches who take pride in telling us their success stories. We will then direct them to apply to the GLL Sports Foundation to assist and enable them an opportunity to develop and progress. Along with facility access we also can offer support with financial help, physiotherapy, lifestyle mentoring and mental health aid.
