Let's be honest, it's not always easy to find the motivation to get up and exercise; it's even harder especially when you're not enjoying it. In order to fix this, you need to find out why getting active is so important and what good impacts it can have on your health and lifestyle.

One of the main reasons why exercise is beneficial for us, probably few of the lesser-known reasons are:

  • It charges you up: thirty minutes or more of vigorous activity helps release endorphins in our brains (the good stuff), which impacts massively on our energy levels, vitality and an intense natural high boost.
  • It improves mental health: there are a lot of studies which conclude that exercise is a very effective way to help manage symptoms such as depression. Not only it helps release those happy hormones but also helps clear your mind of stress, confusion and worry and able to focus on the exercise in the moment.
  • Helps improve social life: by exercising with others, going to the gym, taking part in team sports or going on any sort of physical activities which involve communicating with others or taking part in it is a good way to meet new people and keep each other motivated. With time instead of feeling like a ‘’have to do’’ thing it will become fun and something you may look forward to.
  • Improved sleep: by working the body and clearing the brain, this ensures a good night’s sleep and can help regulate problematic sleeping patterns.

With the ‘’being active part’’ you don’t have to be in love with it. Some people may identify themselves by exercising and keeping healthy however if that just isn’t for you try to find a way to help you enjoy it, whether it’s taking part in a class with a few friends, weight training , playing a sport or simply going on a few runs outside just to clear your mind. In the long term, who knows maybe you could learn to like it.
