This year’s National Fitness Day is taking place on Wednesday 20th September 2023 and is a great way for Wimbledon Leisure Centre And Spa to highlight the benefits of physical activity across the UK, helping us raise awareness of its importance in the nation leading healthier lifestyles. 

We are taking a holistic view of health and wellbeing, focusing on three key areas: nutrition, recovery, physical activity, and of course mental health.

While bringing people together through physical activity on National Fitness Day has a hugely positive impact, we’re encouraging you to view this day as just one step in a much bigger journey. The theme is ‘Your Health is for Life’, encouraging people of all ages, abilities and background to recognise and to celebrate the life-long physical and mental benefits of being active.

More than a quarter of the population in England is classed as inactive – averaging less than 30 minutes of exercise a week – as informed by Sport England’s latest Active Lives survey. So, this year, we want to shift the focus.

To bring more awareness to these issues Wimbledon Leisure Centre And Spa will be hosting the following fitness classes which will explore maintaining a healthy body, mind and soul free of charge:

- Pilates - 11.15 - 12.05 - with Dorothy

- Group Cycle - 13.00 - 13.45 - with Murleen

- Mindfulness - 19.45 - 20.45 - with Waz

Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance either via the Better UK app or our website. Spaces can be booked up to 7 days in advance.
