What's happening at your local Better centre

We're proud to be the new operator in Newham and we've been so pleased to welcome many of you into our Better centres. With so much recent change, we wanted to help you better understand what we're doing to improve services in your community, give you an update on our membership pricing structure and share some exciting news about our concessionary offers. Simply read our helpful FAQs below to find out more: 

• We offer FREE swimming for under 16s
  In order for your child to enjoy free swim sessions, your child will require a Residents Card which you can apply for online and receive free of charge. 
  
  
• Legacy Racquet Membership access
  If you had a Racquet Membership with activeNewham and you have recently transferred to Better, your membership entitles you to one free court session per day. This also includes the existing discount you enjoyed for additional activities - but you will require a Better Senior Pay and Play Membership to receive this. 
  
  
• Over 60s can enjoy FREE swimming too
  We're pleased to say that the initial technical issues encountered when we first took over operation have now been resolved, and we offer free swimming sessions for all of our over 60 and senior members. You will require a Better Senior Pay and Play Membership to receive these sessions for free. 
  
  
• Over 60s activities
  As well as free swimming for over 60s, you can also enjoy discounted activity prices such as gym and fitness classes. As mentioned previously, to enjoy these discounts, please register for a Better Senior Pay and Play Membership. 
  
  
• There is no change to your existing membership price or activity booking fee
  A small number of customers have raised concerns over your cost of your membership and we would like to reassure you that we have not raised the cost of any membership or activity booking in Newham. All memberships were transferred across to us from activeNewham, and we have honoured those membership prices - so there should be no difference to the cost of your membership payment. 
  
  
• We have a much wider offering of membership options
  While we have honoured the existing membership prices at point of transfer from the outgoing operator, we have also introduced new membership types included the Better Health UK membership, giving you access to over 200 centres around the UK - as well as Newham centre only memberships, which offer a reduced price.
