This year’s National Fitness Day is taking place on 20th September 2023 and is a chance to highlight the role physical activity plays across the UK, helping us raise awareness of its importance in assisting us to lead healthier lifestyles.

While bringing people together through physical activity on National Fitness Day has a hugely positive impact, we’re encouraging you to view this day as just one step in a much bigger journey. The theme is ‘Your Health is for Life’, encouraging people of all ages, abilities and background to recognise and celebrate the life-long physical and mental benefits of being active.

To celebrate this event Sutton Sports Village will be hosting the following fitness class, free of charge:

- Strength & Conditioning - 11.15am - 12.00pm - with Marcus

Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance either via the Better UK app or our website. Spaces can be booked up to 7 days in advance.

More than a quarter of the population in England is classed as inactive – averaging less than 30 minutes of exercise a week – according to Sport England’s latest Active Lives survey. So, this year, we want to shift the focus. The 2023 campaign will take a holistic view of health and wellbeing, focusing on three key areas: mental health, nutrition and recovery, and physical activity itself.

We want to spread the message of National Fitness Day and the theme ‘Your Health is for Life’ as far and wide as possible. Whether you plan to go to the gym, take part in this fitness class or just take a stroll around the park, we want you to shout about it on social media using #FITNESSDAY  #YOURHEALTHISFORLIFE and by tagging @FitnessDayUK.
