Waltham Forest Feel Good Centre are temporarily migrating a few exercise classes to the grass outside the Town Hall between the 7th and 25th of August and putting on some new activities. We are committed to working with Waltham Forest Council and their ambitions to make Fellowship Square a destination for the wider community. At Better we believe we connect with the local area and we hope our customers enjoy the summer shake up by taking part in classes outside. For some of our members it may even be closer to where they live. If you know any friends who aren’t members they can take part for just £4 once they create a free booking account.

Bookings will still happen through the app and any required equipment will be provided as normal. We recommend you meet us on the grass on the Forest Road side of the Town Hall although some instructors are planning to walk as a group from Waltham Forest Feel Good Centre.

On Tuesday mornings there is free dodgeball for families or individuals. It is a throwback activity for some players others may still be in school and reigning champions. This activity is mainly about having fun and exercising in the outdoor space. There may be some days when we play more competitively, it will depend on the group. There are adaptions too such a ‘medic mode’ where one unknown player can cure anyone who would normally be out. It improves hand eye co-ordination, flexibility, speed, and jumping. Recommended minimum age 8.

Little ones can try Teddy Tennis, combining music, games, pictures, interactive play and, of course, the teddy characters, Teddy Tennis gets tots between 2 and 5 active on the court. A session on a Monday afternoon cost £4. A child will get to know the characters and learn skills in a fun and playful environment. Less focused on the gameplay, Teddy Tennis is more of a fun introduction to ball skills and builds the child’s confidence and social skills.

We believe our customers are role models and can help us inspire more Waltham Forest residents to be more active more often. If you have any questions you can email Daniel.Bank@GLL.ORG or come and see us in the marque at the event, we will have a member of staff on hand an hour before and after activities to help book or answer other questions about our services.
