On Friday the 27th of January East End Pool held a charity Spin-athon in Aid of the Newcastle Fans Foodbank.

Twenty customers took part in this two hour extravaganza, expertly coached by Amanda, Peter, Ashley and Emma.  The foodbank have a collection point out side of Saint James Park and because of the world cup there had been no donations at this most important time of the year.

Because of this The East End Pool staff had the idea of running a charity event to raise some much needed supplies and money for the Foodbank. The class was a trip through musical history with Amanda using songs from the 1970s, Peter did a set from the 1980s, Ashley used the 1990s and Emma finished the class off with hits from the year 2000 onwards. The event was really hard work and all of the participants had to put in a tremendous amount of effort.  Before the event started Bill Corcoran from the Newcastle foodbank spoke passionately to everyone taking place about the importance of the Foodbank and the difference their efforts will make to the people of Newcastle.

Everyone had a great time, and we have already had requests to do it again!

The dedication and kindness of the East End Pool customers came as no surprise to us and all in all £155 was raised and almost 600 items of food was donated to the Foodbank. Peter dropped off the stock at the Newcastle Foodbank and took the money raised to the Foodbank collection point at Saint James. All money collected on Match days is doubled by the Rubin Foundation.

Well done and a huge Thank you to all involved.
