Summer Solstice 2023 at Riverside Park and Pools
To mark the longest day of the year – Wednesday 21st June - Riverside Park and Pools will be open from sunrise to sunset this summer solstice.
The longest day of the year provides the opportunity to open our doors all-day, meaning that we can welcome regular members, as well as new customers who want to mark the day with an early-morning-swim.
At first light at around 5am, we will be opening for our ‘swim for fitness’ session, meaning our lanes will be ready to use for that morning swim. We will also be extending our ‘swim for all’ session in the afternoon, giving friends and families the perfect opportunity to have a splash in the sun. We will then have a late night ‘swim for fitness’, giving customers a chance to watch the sun come down over are beautiful pool.
Additionally, we are pleased to be welcoming legendary local BBQ caterer – BBQ Sam – who will be here from 1pm to offer a delicious BBQ to our customers. From burgers to fried chicken, there is plenty on the menu. And don’t worry, he has Vegan and Vegetarian options too, so there literally is something for everyone.
Remember, this exciting event is coming on Wednesday 21st June. Our opening hours on the day will be 5am to 9pm, giving you all that early swim or late night dip.
