Haydon Centre & Gym will be hosting an Open Day on Saturday 3rd June 2023 9am-3pm, with lots of different activities for all ages to take part in for free.
You will be able to try out our excellent gym, with over 40 stations of state-of-the-art equipment, plus a free weight and stretch areas. You will also be able to book onto one of our gym refocus sessions with a personal trainer - a gym workshop providing advice for a variety of training styles and techniques, whilst teaching the basic fundamentals for a gym workout.
Continuing with a fitness theme, you could also try out one of our fitness classes with one of our wonderful instructors. We will have Body Conditioning, Yoga and Group Cycle classes to choose from.
One of our Fitness Instructors, Travis, will be leading two brilliant senior activity sessions - Seated Chair Exercise and Walking Football. These sessions are fantatsic for improving mobility, strength and balance, as well as the social benefits of meeting like-minded people in a friendly, welcoming environment.
Would you know what to do if someone collapsed or was choking? Well we will also be running three Community First Aid Workshops, lead by our partnership trainer, Cheryl, who will be teaching the basics of first aid.
Cheryl, had this to say:
"You can never tell when a member of your family, a close friend or even a stranger may need emergency help, and those precious first minutes could be so important.
"Even knowing the basics of first aid can prove so decisive in saving a life, those all important lifesaving skills to give people the confidence in an emergency if needed.
"By providing these workshops at the Open Day, we hope that we can raise awareness of how important it is for people in the community to have some understanding of what to do if needed".
At Haydon Centre & Gym, we work with lots of groups and clubs to provide some excellent services for the local community, with some of them showcasing the amazing things they do at our Open Day.
Haydon Meadow Pre-School will be arranging games and activties. Busy Fingers Parent & Toddler Group will have fun filled arts and crafts for little ones. We will also be joined for a martial arts and dance taster sessions from Matt Fiddes.
