Free pickleball taster session on World Pickleball Day 2023
Better Customers at the White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre can try one of the world’s fastest growing racket sports – Pickleball – to celebrate World Pickleball Day (Tuesday 10th October).
The fun sport pits player teams across the net in a hybrid of tennis, badminton and table tennis, played on a badminton sized court. Even though Pickleball is like tennis, there are important differences that make Pickleball especially more accessible for children and seniors. The most important difference is the speed of the ball which travels at about a third of the average speed of a tennis ball. It is equally important that the court is somewhat less than a third of the total area of a tennis court.
Loved by celebrities from Leonardo DiCaprio to Bill Gates and Kim Kardashian, Pickleball is America’s fastest growing sport and is growing in popularity in the UK – where Better centres are now rolling it out.
Have a go at this easy-to-master, fun and sociable activity whatever your level of fitness and join our free session on Tuesday 10th October from 2-4pm. All equipment will be provided at the session or feel free to bring along your own Pickleball racket, just wear comfortable sports clothes and non-marking trainers.
