Our facilities

Printing

Black and white and colour printing is available for a small fee. Print in A4 or A3 from our computers or your own laptop.

Study space

Whether you're studying or working, find desks, quiet areas and dedicated study spaces at Gainsborough Library. 

Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the library. You can log in on your phone, tablet or laptop. 

Parking

At Gainsborough Library, we have limited free street parking spaces. There are also paid car parks near by.

Local Studies

We have a range of local studies resources for reference use covering the history of Gainsborough and the surrounding area. Our collection includes:
  • Books: A selection of books relating to the history of Gainsborough and the surrounding area. 
  • Directories: Titles such as Kellys and Whites covering a variety of years from 1826- 1937. Gainsborough Directories are also held for a variety of years from 1844-1958. 
  • Newspapers on Microfilm: Gainsborough News 1867-2010 (incomplete). A Microfilm Reader Printer is available to use. To book the Reader or check whether the year you want is available, please contact the team direct. 
  • Maps: OS scale covering Gainsborough and the surrounding area for a variety of dates between 1853 and the 1980s. 
  • Illustrations: A collection of photographs of Gainsborough and the surrounding area dating from 1900s onwards 

Workspaces at Gainsborough Library

Whether you need a desk or a whole meeting room, we have workspaces at Gainsborough Library. 

We have desks and quiet study spaces that are free for everyone to use. They're available on a first come, first served basis.

If you need more room, we also have a meeting room for hire for up to 12 people.
