Festival of Swimming

The Festival of Swimming is the Lido's annual community swimming celebration. With a fully packed programme for the whole day, there is fun available for all abilities and ages. Sign up to join our friendly swimming gala, free taster swimming classes, enjoy entertainment stalls from local businesses and challenge yourself on our inflatable race course.

2026 Line Up includes:

Friendly swimming gala - child and adult races throughout the day finishing with fun team relays!
Inflatable Obstacle Course (8+ swimmers)
Free swimming classes including Flips and Turns Masterclass
Charity Cake Sale by the lovely London Fields Lido User Group

How do I sign up?

Step 1: Book a ticket for Swimming Festival at London Fields Lido

Step 2: Complete the Festival of Swimming Entry Form to select your races

The available races are:

Youth (8-18)

50m free, breast, back and fly

Masters (18+)

400m free
200m individual medley
100m free and breast
50m free, breast, back and fly
Team Relays - 50m x 4 and Fun Relays (revealed on the day)

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to dive in?

We will have diving blocks available, but you do not have to use them! You can dive from the side or start in the water.

Can I bring family/friends?

Spectators are welcome! Spectator entry is £1 on the door on a first-come, first-serve basis.

When will I get my results?

You can find out your time immediately upon finishing the race. The full set of times will be published by event once all the heats and races are complete. You will receive these by email, as well as be able to view them on the London Fields Lido page of the Better website.

Can I sign up on the day?

To guarantee a place, ensure you sign up in advance. If space and time allow, we will endeavour to accommodate on the day for anyone who feels inspired to join in. There is also plenty of fun to have on the day even if you are not swimming, which doesn't require you to sign up in advance.

Swim For All

Our Swim For All sessions are a great opportunity to enjoy the good weather at the lido with your family and friends. Take a dip and enjoy a more leisurely pace in these sessions. Non-swimmers and under 8s must be supervised by an adult - one adult to every two children.
