This year Better are delivering a number of Holiday Schemes throughout Belfast during the Easter, Summer and Halloween holiday terms. Last year we delivered across 13 facilities in all corners of the city and welcomed over 2,500 children.

Our Holiday Schemes are typically delivered between 10am to 2pm, Monday to Friday, with staff expected to work between 9.30am to 2.30pm. The dates for the schemes this year will be as follows:

Easter Holiday Schemes – 3rd to 5th April

Summer Holiday Schemes – 1st July to 23rd August

Halloween Holiday Schemes – 30th October to 1st November

The roles available will include the following:

Children’s Activity Supervisor

This role involves supervising a holiday scheme at one of our sites. This requires someone with experience in supervising children and managing staff to deliver a high quality service. You will be required to work with the centre management team to plan and programme daily activities as well as organise and manage the Children’s Activity Instructors to ensure all activities are delivered to a high standard along with complying with all child safeguarding policies and procedures.

Children’s Activity Instructor

This role will involve working and instructing children at one of our holiday scheme sites. This requires someone with a passion for coaching and teaching children, prior experience of this is preferred but not essential. You will be required to work with the Children’s Activity Supervisor and other instructors to deliver a high quality scheme and experience for all children.

The pay for these roles are as follows:

Children’s Activity Supervisor - £14.09 (including Annual Leave allowance)

Children’s Activity Instructor - £13.45 (including Annual Leave allowance)

The above pay grades are only for people aged 18 or over. 16 and 17 year olds are subject to a lower rate of pay

 HOLIDAY SCHEME JOB ROLE

 

Applicants deemed suitable for a Summer Scheme role will be invited to an interview. Succesful candidates will be expected to attend an induction day on 28th June at Girdwood Community Hub.
