What a brilliant day Saturday 18th March was. The sports centre played host to a charity fitness community dat. We were raising funds for a homeless charity 'Crisis’ and we wanted to raise awareness of our community gym and fitness studio classes that ‘Better ‘offer.

The day brought new and existing people through the door, whom all agrees had a great day, the centre was bussing with a lovely community vibe. Even the supporters from the side-line who didn’t participate in classes, sat within our café area to enjoy a beverage and the cheeky cake while socialising together throughout the day’s event.

We raised just over an amazing £855 through the donations for class participation, gym tours, blood pressure health chats and refreshments. All the food and drinks were donated by our local community businesses, Better gym members and our staff. We had an amazing balloon display created in the charity colour scheme and designed and built by Amy, a member of staff at our centre.

How it worked on the day

Our three studio instructors, Victoria, Val and Emma provided a range of taster sessions of which all run all day with two classes running simultaneously and all were well subscribed. The classes started at 09.30 and the last class finished at 3pm.

The classes included HITT, HITT- Kickboxing, Dance fit, Spinning, Pilates, Core stability, Yogalates and Body conditioning. All of which can be found in our weekly exercise class programme.
