What is Pickleball?
Pickleball is a fast, friendly and easy-to-learn racquet sport that’s perfect for all ages and abilities. Played on a court with a net, you’ll use solid paddles and a lightweight, perforated ball. The rules are similar to tennis and badminton, making it simple to pick up – but still full of energy and fun.
To score a point, you need to be serving, and all players must keep the ball within the court boundaries. One rule that takes a little practice is the “two-bounce” rule. This means that after the serve, the receiving side must let the ball bounce once before returning it. Then, the serving side must also let it bounce once before hitting it back. After these two bounces, you can choose to volley (hit before it bounces) or play a groundstroke until the point is won.
You can play singles or doubles, making Pickleball a brilliant way to stay active, meet new people and enjoy some healthy competition. It’s social, inclusive and a great way to move more, together.
