Barnet Car Parking

Our car parking management system operates across all leisure centre car parks (excluding Finchley Lido Leisure Centre) and is operational at all times. A camera is located at the front entrance to the centres car park which will pick up vehicle registration numbers upon entry and exit.

Members who hold an active Adult Health and Fitness pre-paid membership, on an annual or monthly direct debit agreement, including Swim only, receive free parking. Barnet Training Scheme customers and Gymnastics squad customers also receive free parking.

Members need to register their vehicle registration by simply completing an online form (1 vehicle registration per active membership allowed). Once registered, it will take 2 working days for access to be applied. If you do not hear from us, you have been successfully registered. If we have any queries on your registration, we will contact you on the email registered against your membership. Please note, you will only need to register your vehicle once. Centre users that don’t hold a membership or aren’t Barnet Training Scheme or Gymnastic Squad customers can pay for their stay by scanning a QR code available at reception. Payment machines are available at Barnet Copthall Leisure Centre and New Barnet Leisure Centre located in the car parks. Please be aware that there are no payment machines at Hendon Leisure Centre or Burnt Oak Leisure Centre and you will need to scan the QR codes in centre to pay for car parking online.

The charges are as follows:

  • 0-1 hours - £0.50
  • 1-2 hours - £1.00
  • 2-3 hours - £2.00
  • 3-4 hours - £3.00
  • £1 extra every hour thereafter
  • Disabled parking – FREE

Barnet Copthall Leisure Centre Weekend Charges (Please note, these charges are not for current users of our leisure centre):

  • 0-1 hour = 50p
  • 1-2 hours = £1.00
  • 2-3 hours = £20.00
  • 3-4 hours = £25.00
  • Over 4 hours = £30.00

If you're a Blue Badge holder, you'll need to bring this with you to validate your free parking with our friendly Concierge each time you visit.

I am a member, how long do I get free?

You get free parking on every visit as long as you have an active Health and Fitness membership on an annual or monthly direct debit agreement or are Barnet Training Scheme customers and Gymnastics squad customers. Please ensure you register your vehicle or you will be charged.

I have a borough wide membership and use multiple centres, do I get free parking at all centres?

Yes, we ensure that your car is registered to all centres (excluding Finchley Lido Leisure Centre).

I am not a member, how long do I get for free?

The first 20 minutes are free (to drop off or to pick up).

You are welcome to stay as long as you would like, however, fees apply. See breakdown above.

Do I need to pay for car parking while I charge my electric vehicle?

No - just bring the proof of your charge times to our reception team on the day of the charge and we will provide you with free parking for the length of the charge. Note, any length of time that falls outside of the charge duration will need to be paid for.

Do I need to pay during my visit?

Yes, please ensure you pay for the duration of the visit before you leave the car park

Does the parking system operate all day?

Yes. 

I am a member so how do I register my car?

Are the payment machines cashless?

Yes, they only accept card or you can scan the QR code at reception. Please be aware there are no pay machines at Hendon Leisure Centre or Burnt Oak Leisure Centre, so you will need to scan the QR code at reception to pay. 

My child has a lesson or course at the centre every week, do I still receive the free parking?

Barnet Training Scheme customers and Gymnastics squad customers receive free parking. Fees apply for other lesson and courses customers (Swimming lessons and general gymnastics). Please speak to a member of the team if you would like any clarification. See breakdown of parking fees above.

I have just cancelled my membership – do I still get free parking?

Upon cancellation of your membership, free parking will also be terminated. However, you are still be able to get your first 20 minutes free. 

What should I do if I've received a parking ticket in error

Please contact us with the date you registered your vehicle, vehicle registration and ticket reference and we will look into it for you. 

What if I change my vehicle?

If you’d like to update the vehicle registered on your membership, please contact your local Barnet leisure centre in writing. Be sure to include your membership number, your current vehicle registration, and the new registration you’d like to add.

Please note that the change will only take effect once it has been confirmed in writing by the centre.

Why are weekend Tariffs higher at Barnet Copthall Leisure Centre?

To help to avoid overcrowding within the leisure centre car park on weekends and specifically match days, an increased tariff has been introduced applicable for those planning to park 2 hours and longer. The majority of people using the leisure centre stay for 2 hours or less and can continue to pay for parking as usual, however if you wish to visit the leisure centre and would like to pay for 2 hours or more, please show a valid booking to the concierge to arrange payment at the week day tariff price.

Alternative travel options to your local leisure centre, such as walking, cycling, or using public transport, can play a significant role in helping Barnet take a step towards to being a net zero carbon borough. By reducing the number of cars on the road, you can reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions that are released into the atmosphere, which in turn can help to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
