Britannia Leisure Centre was designed with inclusivity in mind and in the same way, many of our activities are inclusive of people with additional needs. We also run some activities that are designed to specifically meet the needs of young people and adults with special educational needs and disabilities.
Sensory Swim
Our Sensory Swim sessions uses multi sensory technology and reduces noise to create a calm environment for swimming.
This session is ideal for children and adults with additional needs or for adults who might require a calm environment such as those diagnosed with dementia.

Inclusive Swim
At Britannia Leisiure Centre, we offer an inclusive swimming session which allows young people and adults with additional needs to use the pool, benefitting from reduced capacity and noise.

Inclusive Swimming Lessons
Our SEND Swimming Lessons cater for children with additional needs. Children in these classes benefit from a reduced teacher to student ratio.
These lessons take place on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

SENSE Disco
Our Sensory Discos take place once a month on a Saturday and are supported by the charity SENSE. The session includes sensory lighting, fun party music, dancing and games so that young people with disabilities and their whole family can attend and enjoy.
The session takes place in the Training Pool. Upcoming dates are:

SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Soft Play
SEND Soft Play
Soft Play helps children to develop in a number of different ways, including improving their motor skills and providing sensory stimulation. Our SEND sessions have reduced capacity and noise, to cater for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
