Britannia Leisure Centre have 4 squash courts that can be booked online or via the Better UK app. Squash is a great way to have fun and get healthy, whatever your age or level of ability. Improve your fitness, refine your squash skills or simply have fun at Britannia Leisure Centre.
All players other than the primary court booker must have paid the appropriate participant admission fee. This also applies to members of sports clubs.

Junior Squash Courses
Whether your child is a complete beginner or you’re looking to help them build their confidence, squash courses at Britannia Leisure Centre will help them develop skills to last a lifetime.
Basic Techniques:
1.Grip and Stance: Learn the basic forehand and backhand grip variations and maintain a balanced, athletic stance to move efficiently.
2.Racquet Skills: Practice swing mechanics for forehand drives, backhand, drives, volleys, and drop shots.
3.Shots: Focus on fundamental shots straight drives, boasts (hitting side walls), drops (short shots close to the front wall), lobs, and kills.
Movement and Footwork:
1.Court Positioning: Learn to stay near the “T” (central area of the court) to reduce travel and be ready for any return.
2.Footwork Drills: Practice lunges, small adjustment steps, and explosive movements to cover the court efficiently and maintain balance while hittingshots.
3.Recovery: Emphasize quick recovery to the "T" after each shot to maintain an advantageous position in rallies.
Game Strategy:
1.Control the Rally: Understand when to attack or defend.Early in learning,aim to keep the ball tight to walls and maintain length to the back of the court.
2.Shot Selection: Learn tactical spacing, such as forcing the opponent to cover the full court or using deceptive drop shots near the front wall.
3.Opponent Analysis: Observe patterns in the opponent’s movement and weaknesses, and adapt strategies accordingly.
