Main Pool

The Main Pool at Hough End Leisure Centre is heated to 28 degrees, has 6 lanes and is 25m long by 12.5m wide. With depths ranging from 1.0m at the shallow end to 1.8m at the deep end. We run a variety of sessions each and every week.

The swimming pool is served by a village changing room with a number of changing cabins including 3 family changing areas including 6 baby change tables. There are lockers in the changing village to keep your belongings safe whilst you swim, and take a £1 coin, a trolley token, or can be locked with a padlock which you can purchase from reception.

Access to the pool is via gradual steps and hand rail by the shallow end or we have a pool hoist available for those unable to access via the steps. The centre is also proud to host a changing places room with bed, hoist and adapted shower and toilet facilities. For more information.

Small Pool

The Small Pool at Hough End Leisure Centre is heated to 29 degrees and is 17m long by 8m wide. With depths ranging from 0.9m at the shallow end to 1.2m at the deeper end. We run a variety of sessions each and every week.

The swimming pool is served by a village changing room with a number of changing cabins and 3 family changing areas including 6 baby change tables. There are lockers within to keep your belongings safe whilst you swim, and take a £1 coin, a trolley token, or can be locked with a padlock which you can purchase from reception.

Access to the pool is via gradient steps and handrail by the shallow end or a pool hoist is also available for access. If you need to make use of the Pool Pod please inform a member of staff on arrival who can ensure this is all set up for you.

Over 60's Swim

Did you know Manchester residents aged 60+ are eligible for our free swimming scheme? That's right! Registering for the MCRactive card enables you to swim for free in swim for fitness, swim for all, swim for women and swim for senior sessions at Hough End Leisure Centre.

FREE Swimming for ages 16 and under

Did you know that Manchester residents aged 16 and under are eligible to receive free swimming during selected sessions on weekends and during each and every school holiday?

To be eligible, the young person needs to be registered and a qualifying MCRactive card. This can be signed up to online, or in person at the centre.

Our weekly free swimming sessions are take place on Saturday and Sunday from 3pm to 5pm.

Active Aqua

Active Aqua is a programme designed to get the whole community active. Activities cost just £1.60 and include a whole host of sessions including:

Swim for Fitness

Lane Swimming to suit all speeds to ensure you get the most out of your swim.

Competent lane swimmers over the age of 11 are allowed to book Swim For Fitness sessions.

Swimmers ages 11-15 should competent swimmers of a club standard if not, they need to be acompainied by a competent swimmer aged 16+.

Your booking is for 1 hour and includes changing time.

No matter your fitness ability, our Swim for All sessions are perfect if you're looking to build your confidence, work on your strokes, float away any stress, or simply want to enjoy a more casual swim with your family and friends.
