Wheels for Life is now managed and delivered by GLL, continuing the successful bike donation and refurbishment scheme that helps tackle transport poverty, improve health and wellbeing, and create more active communities across Lincolnshire. The programme collects donated bicycles, refurbishes them to a safe and usable standard, and redistributes them to people who may otherwise be unable to access the benefits of cycle ownership.
For many individuals and families, a lack of affordable transport can be a significant barrier to accessing employment, education, healthcare, and community activities. Wheels for Life helps address this challenge by providing access to bicycles as a practical, low-cost mode of transport, supporting greater independence while reducing inequalities linked to transport poverty.
