Off-Peak Membership FAQs
What does peak and off-peak mean in the gym?
Peak hours are when the gym is typically the busiest - during popular times like weeknights or mornings on the weekend. Off-peak gym times fall outside of the busy window, when there is lower demand.
Off-Peak membership costs less because it covers the quieter hours. A standard membership lets you visit any time.
Are there any restrictions on the gym, facilities or classes available during off-peak hours?
The only restrictions with an Off-Peak membership will be availability timings (Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm and Saturday and Sunday after 1pm). During these off-peak times, you will have full access to Better gym facilities, swimming pool and fitness classes. You can also enjoy court bookings at a discounted rate.
If you don’t want to be restricted by off-peak times, then opt for a monthly membership that gives you greater flexibility.
Facilities may vary across locations so check your local Better centre to find out more.
Can I upgrade to a standard monthly membership later on?
Like all of our monthly memberships, our Off-Peak membership has no contract and the option to pay by rolling Direct Debit. This makes it easy to switch your membership whenever you want. Visit our FAQs page for more support on membership changes.
Are there any other types of discounted memberships available?
At Better, we offer a range of discounted membership options to ensure that everyone has access to affordable gym and leisure facilities near them.
Our concessionary memberships are for you if you receive income support or meet other qualifying criteria. Our Inclusive Membership is the best option for people with accessibility requirements.
We also offer memberships for seniors and students at a discounted rate. For more information about different types of membership, view our terms and conditions.
