Free Team Sports for Over 50s
Older adults from across Bath and the surrounding area are being invited to take part in a free afternoon of sport, socialising and fun at Bath Sports and Leisure Centre later this month.
Bath Sports and Leisure Centre is partnering with "Life in the Old Dogs" to host a FREE Seniors Team Sports Day on Sunday 27 September, offering participants the chance to enjoy a range of team sports in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Taking place from 2pm to 5pm, the event will feature adapted sessions in football, basketball, tag rugby and netball, designed specifically for older adults of all fitness levels and abilities. Whether attendees are returning to a sport they enjoyed years ago or trying something completely new, organisers hope the day will encourage people to get active, make new connections and have fun.
The event is open to anyone interested in taking part, with no previous sporting experience required. Activities will be adapted to ensure everyone can take part comfortably, regardless of their experience or fitness level.
Organisers say the day is about much more than sport, focusing on the social, physical and mental wellbeing benefits that come from staying active and connected within the community.
Participants can attend on their own or bring a friend, making it an ideal opportunity to meet new people and discover new activities in a relaxed setting.
The Seniors Team Sports Day will take place at Bath Sports & Leisure Centre, North Parade Road, Bath, and is completely free to attend.
Anyone wishing to take part is encouraged to register their interest in advance by emailing Mark Harrison, GLL's Community Sport Manager for Bath and North East Somerset and Swindon, with their name and the sports they would like to play.
