Abbey Leisure Complex will be running a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) course from 22nd -27th April.

The course will be 9am-5pm each day with the final day as an assessment. 100% attendance is required for the course.

The course contrises of both pool work, first aid elements and the use of the defibrilllator; giving you the qualification to become a lifeguard or recreation assistant.

Heres some inspiration from a current member of our staff at the Abbey Leisure Complex: " At first i wanted to complete the course for my own knowledge of first aid and help others around me as i was a keen swimmer. After completing the course I felt that i could help more people from inside a leisure centre and applied to be a casual recreation assistant, which was one of the best decisions I could make. I can help people around the centre, it makes me feel useful and working for GLL I feel as if I'm giving something back to the community as they are a non-profit organisation."
