On 3rd December Sutton Sports Centre hosted its annual 'Elf Day' to help fundraise for the Alzheimer's Society.

Organised by our own 'Crazy Elf', Jean Saunders, the event has become an annual tradition, with sports activities, refreshments and raffle prizes including a free 6 month membership, a 32" television, a £50 restaurant voucher and plenty of wine and chocolates!

This year Jean and the rest of the Sutton Evergreens, who play badminton, tennis, walking football and much more at the centre, helped to raise over £700 for the charity!

The Evergreens are a social 50+ community group who participate in a wide range of activities at the centre including aerolatino, table tennis, walking football, badminton, tennis, yoga, pilates, aerobics and more. If you are interested in joining the Evergreens or would like more information on the programme of activities we host at the centre please click here.

The Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity. They campaign for change, fund research to find a cure and support people living with dementia today.

Oliver Stacey, General Manager, said "It was fantastic event and it was brilliant to see so many people contibuting so generously to such a worthy cause. Jean's energy and passion continues to lift everyone's spirits during the festive period, even after such a challenging year for so many. We are already looking forward to next year's event and are aiming to raise even more money for charity in 2022".

Congratulations and well done to all those who contributed, and to the lucky prize winners!
