We're investing in Sutton Sports Village to create one of the most exciting racquet sports destinations in the region.
Over the coming months we'll be introducing four brand-new indoor padel courts, two pickleball courts, refurbished all-weather tennis courts, and a new Sports Lounge for customers to relax and socialise.
These improvements will help us modernise existing facilities, increase participation opportunities and create an even better experience for everyone who uses the centre.
As work progresses there will be some temporary changes to activity programmes and court availability. This page will be updated regularly and will remain the central source of information throughout the project.
Exciting Improvements Coming to Sutton Sports Village
Why are these improvements taking place?
The investment programme has been designed to modernise existing facilities and respond to growing demand for racquet sports across Sutton and the surrounding area.
The project will:
- Introduce four brand-new indoor padel courts
- Create two dedicated pickleball courts
- Upgrade outdoor tennis courts to all-weather surfaces
- Create a new Sports Lounge and social area
- Improve the overall customer experience and long-term sustainability of the centre
The improvements will allow us to offer more opportunities to play, train, compete and socialise while ensuring Sutton Sports Village remains a leading destination for sport and physical activity.
What will be changing?
New indoor padel courts
Three existing indoor tennis courts will be transformed into four premium padel courts and two pickleball courts. Padel is one of the UK's fastest-growing sports and will provide new opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.
Improved tennis facilities
Our outdoor clay courts will be converted into all-weather courts, providing more reliable year-round availability and extended evening playing opportunities.
New sports lounge
A new social space will be created overlooking both the padel and tennis facilities, giving customers a welcoming area to meet, work remotely or relax before and after activities.
Temporary service changes
To enable these improvements, some activities and programmes will be temporarily affected.
This may include:
- Temporary closure of some indoor tennis courts
- Changes to lesson and course schedules
- Relocation of selected activities
- Reduced availability for some casual court bookings
- Temporary programme adjustments during construction periods
We are working closely with coaches, clubs, partners and customers to minimise disruption wherever possible.
