Senior Activities

Leatherhead Leisure Centre boasts an extensive senior activities programme, with sessions to suit all. Not only is our senior programme designed to enhance physical and mental wellbeing, but it also offers the ideal social environment to relax and chat with friends before, during and after activities.

Sports Hall Activities

We set up multiple different activities in our sports hall, including badminton, Short tennis,Walking Sports such as Football and Netball. All equipment is provided, but participants are of course welcome to bring their own.

Senior Fitness Classes

We have a jam packed fitness class programme which caterers for all fitness levels. Classes such as Dance Fitness, Aqua Aerobics, Yoga, These classes are taken by our Fitness Class instructors. The classes can be booked by using the BetterUK App or if you prefer our staff at the front desk can book these classes for you.

We have Retired Rec sessions every week on a;

Tuesday - 1:30pm-3:30pm

Thursday - 1:30pm-3:30pm

Gym Sessions

In a relaxed and enjoyable group setting, you'll enjoy the gym facilities and have the chance to engage with our Fitness Instructors, who will be there to give demonstrations, advice on techniques and explanations of the benefits of different machines and exercises. So if you've always wanted to go to the gym - this is the perfect session for you!

Swimming

Swimming is available throughout the day with swim for fitness and swim for all session’s. Swimming is a great all over body work out and suitable for all swimming abilities. There are lanes in all sessions with fast, medium and slow options

Aerobics

Senior aerobics is a form of physical exercise that combines rhythmic aerobic movements with stretching and strength training to improve cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, balance, and muscle strength. It is designed specifically to take into consideration physical limitations and health conditions.

Walking Netball

Walking Netball is a low impact version of netball perfect for those returning to the sport after a long break, coming back to activity after injury or those wanting something slower paced.

Sessions are led by our fantastic host Linda who will get you warmed up, into a few practice drills and playing the sport. Open to anyone regardless of age, ability or fitness level who want to enjoy a fun and social sport.

Senior Badminton Drop In

Senior Badminton Drop In is for ayone aged 50 + and is a great way to get active, have fun and stay healthy, whatever your level of ability. So boost your mental, physical and social health by taking up this fast-paced racquet sport.

We set up multiple badminton courts in our sports hall and we have enough rackets available for singles or doubles matches. All equipment is provided, but participants are of course, welcome to bring their own.

Whether you're a seasoned player or a beginner, a game of squash is sure to get the heart racing and ensure a great calorie burn. It's a fantastic high-energy workout that can be enjoyed with friends, family and work colleagues.
