Here at York Leisure Centre, we aim to make all our services, classes, and facilities as accessible as possible. However, we understand that not everyone will feel comfortable during mainstream activities.
SEN Clip 'n' Climb
A SEN focused Clip 'n' Climb session with reduced capacity and no music to support any sensory sensitivity. The Clip 'n' Climb arena provides a range of colourful climbing walls, providing fun and adventure for both child and adult climbers alike.
Ages: 4+
Times: Fridays 17:40 - 18:40
Price: Juniors 4-8 years (adult supervision required) £11.80, Junior 8-16 years £13.00 and Adults £14.45
Inclusive Swim
This open session is designed for people with disabilities and their carers and family members in a friendly and safe environment. Pool hoist assisted entry to the pool and easy access steps available.
It is a dementia friendly session with no music for sensory sensitivities.
The session has a reduced capacity and includes access to all swimming pools, Main Pool, Learner Pool and Splash Pad.
Ages: All ages, under 8's must be accompanied by an adult. Carers can attend for free and do not need to book in.
Times: Saturdays 16.00 - 17.00
Price: Adults £6.25 and juniors £4.50. Carers Free.
Changing Places Toilet and Changing Room
Located within the ground floor poolside changing village, we have a changing places toilet and shower available. Changing places toilets are larger accessible facilities, including a changing bench and a hoist, designed to support disabled people. The features include adjustable bench.

Gym equipment
Working with the Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) York Leisure Centre has a number of ‘IFI Accredited’ fitness equipment within the gym. IFI Equipment is fully inclusive enabling both disabled and non-disabled people to benefit from a full body, cardiovascular and resistance-based workout. Equiptment includes IFI Bikes, Arm bike, inclusive resistance machines and more.
