On the evening of Tuesday 3 June, Lee Valley hosted their third annual GSF celebration event at Lee Valley White Water Centre.

This is the third group of talented athletes to be support by the Foundation and see’s athletes from as young as 8 and up to 87 years old being supported throughout 2025.

In total 78 athletes were supported in 2025, up from 58 in 2024.

The foundation supports a number of talented athletes who access the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority venues but is fortunate to count three who medalled in Paris 2024, Kimberly Woods (Kayak Cross) Joe Clarke (Kayak Cross) and Bianca Williams (4x100m relay). Dan Buck, Corporate Director of Lee Valley Regional Park Authority was invited and able to talk to athletes who have become elite athletes due to the Lee Valley venues.

The evening was finished by a Question and Answer session with 2023 World Silver medallist James Kettle. James was a brilliant speaker and was happy to speak about his journey into the sport. He also spoke of the support of his sporty family during a recent serious injury and the additional support of the GLL Sport Foundation in the continuation of his career.

We wish all athletes that use Lee Valley venues the best of success for 2025.
