Our centre provides a whole range of paddling related courses
from Discover and Explore, as well as confidence building “follow on” sessions. For those looking to lead paddle sports or gain working
qualifications we also have our Foundation Safety Rescue Training
(FSRT), Aquatic First Aid Level 1 & 2 and Swim Event Safety Award
(SESA) awards. Courses are for 16yrs+

BC Lifeguard Courses

Learn to provide safety and rescue with our lifeguarding qualifications. We’ll provide a level of knowledge and skill to render First Aid in a range of emergency situations and within a reasonable distance of medical assistance. Our SESA (Swim Event Safety Award) will allow you to work with open water swim events and clubs, and to act as safety support to open water swimmers.

Private Tuition

Course dates not suitable? Want a more flexible option to learn? Need specific coaching to improve?

The West Reservoir Centre offers a personalised, closer style of coaching, through private tuitions where instructors can work precisely on what you need. You can share this time between three people. We cater for a host of disciplines be it: Kayaking, Canoeing or Stand-Up paddle boarding.

The Castle Canoe Club

The Castle Canoe Club is a friendly adult kayak and canoe club. The Club welcomes everyone of any level, and runs inductions to take novice paddlers in, while also offering a canoe polo team and even trips away. They paddle Sundays 10am – 1pm and during the summer time they
paddle Tuesdays 6pm – 8pm.

Membership with the club is required.
