Gym at Hough End Leisure Centre

Welcome to Hough End Leisure Centre gym in Manchester. With 90 stations of Technogym equipment and bright, airy spaces, Hough End gym is a great place to work out in South Manchester. The main gym is filled with natural light and offers views over Princess Parkway, making every workout more enjoyable. You’ll find cardio machines, resistance kit, a dedicated strength zone and a free weights area, plus functional training equipment for a well-rounded session. Alongside the main gym, there’s also a Programme Gym used for women-only, junior and community sessions. Ideal if you prefer a more private space.

Main Gym - Cardio Zone

Our main gym is a light and spacious environment with Technogym cardio, resistance and strength equipment. With 90 stations in total, it’s the perfect space whether you want to lift, row, run or train functionally.

Our cardio zone, looks out over Princess Parkway, with treadmills, rowing machines, cross trainers and StairMasters, it’s the ideal space to work on stamina and cardiovascular fitness.

Main Gym - Strength and Resistance Zones

We’ve got an extensive range of plate-loaded machines for strength training, including chest press, shoulder press, lat pulldown, hack squat, glute hip extension and chest-supported row. In the resistance area you’ll also find pin-loaded kit like leg presses, ab crunch and back row machines, plus multiple single and double cable stations for a more controlled workout.

Main Gym - Functional Area and Free Weights

Our free weights and functional area is designed for both beginners and experienced lifters. You’ll find squat racks, kettle bells, a power rack, benches, barbells, dumbbells up to 40kg, and fixed-position incline and decline chest presses. There’s also a wide selection of loose kit including core bags, kettlebells up to 25kg, step boxes, mats and more. Perfect for finishers or accessory work.

Programme Gym

The Programme Gym is a bright and airy space with a great range of Technogym equipment. This dedicated room is used for women-only, junior, older adult and disability sessions, but is also open to everyone outside of scheduled classes. It’s an inclusive, flexible training space that makes fitness accessible to all.

Junior Gym

Young people aged 11–17 can get active in our supervised Junior Gym sessions, designed to build confidence and give teenagers a safe, structured space to train.
