Meet our new General Manager
Both Haydon Centre and Gym and Dorcan Recreation Complex have a new General Manager who started with us on April 4th. Ash has worked in the leisure industry for 16 years and has worked for Better for 3 years. To find out more about Ash please see below:
Hi I am Ash. I have worked in the leisure industry for 16 years. I began my career working as a lifeguard whilst at college, before progressing to become a Duty Manager and then Operations Manager. After 13 years of service with my previous company, the opportunity to expand my knowledge and understanding of a different organisation and products became available with Better as an Assistant Manager, based at Bath Sports Centre. This involved overseeing all operational aspects of the Trampoline Park, Ten-pin Bowling, Soft Play and catering, before adding the Gym as a direct responsibility.
My real passion lies with working closely with the community, local businesses and affiliations, helping people with their fitness journey and developing staff with their progression goals. There’s nothing better than seeing people develop to their full potential.
Stepping into my first General Manager position at the Haydon Centre and Gym, as well as Dorcan Recreation Complex is really exciting for me and something I have been working hard to achieve for some time. I really have the passion and dedication to develop our centres and give back to the local community. Health and fitness has really been highlighted as such a significant component in our everyday lives, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic both for our physical and mental wellbeing. I look forward to working with all of the members at both centres as well as the various groups who use our facilities to improve the health and wellbeing of the local community.
