1st of our Maindy Marvel re-cap

This is John - he was our very first Maindy Marvel back in August last year

John is 78 and only started swimming at the age of 60.

While on holiday with his sister John was struggling to make it back to the shore while paddling in the sea. Luckily he managed to get back, but his sister decided that he needed to learn how to swim and encouraged him to attend Maindy where she swum. She taught him how to swim and Safe to say John has never looked back since.  

John comes swimming everyday and is the first one at the door in the morning and very rarley misses a day unless he is holiday. 

This is a great example of you are never too old to learn new tricks. We are extremely proud of him that not only did he learn to swim at 60, but he has kept it up for over 18 years. He is definatley part of the furniture here first thing in the morning and loves a chat so please say hi if you see him!
