Oasis Leisure Centre Update

Thanks to all of our members for your continued support during these unprecedented times. We have greatly appreciated your patience and understanding as we begin preparations to re-open many of our leisure centres in Swindon once the lockdown restrictions are lifted across England.

An update on Oasis Leisure Centre...

The economic impact of COVID-19 has been felt by many across the UK, and unfortunately here at Better, we have also been affected. As such, we have made the difficult decision not to re-open Oasis Leisure Centre after lockdown and we will be surrendering our lease back to the landlord, Seven Capital.

It is with great regret that we have come to this point, but we believe it is the only option available to us. As a charitable social enterprise, we are not in a position to continue operating a location that requires capital investment and is losing money, while accruing significant rent liabilities.

We recognise the significant impact the closure of Oasis Leisure Centre will have on you, your families and the entire Swindon community. With the support of Swindon Council, we will continue to operate six leisure centres in Swindon - Croft Sports Centre, Delta Tennis Centre, Dorcan Recreation Complex, Haydon Centre & Gym, the Health Hydro and Link Centre.

We are committed to supporting all current members and customers to relocate to alternative leisure centres within Swindon and we will be in touch with you over the coming days with further information.
