Lee Valley Ice Centre – Visitor Information Guide

Accessibility

Lee Valley Ice Centre is fully accessible, and programming has been designed to accommodate a wide range of needs. Accessible toilets and changing areas are available throughout the venue.


Access Restrictions

For safety and operational reasons, the following items are not permitted inside the venue:

  • Skateboards
  • Bicycles
  • Roller skates
  • Scooters
  • Fold‑up bicycles

Any bicycles left outside in the stands are at the owner's risk.


Changing Rooms & Lockers

Are lockers available?

Yes. Two types of lockers are available:

  • Small lockers in the skate hire area
  • Large lockers in the changing room area (suitable for ice hockey kit)

Locker Prices

The venue is cashless:

  • Token for small lockers: £1
  • Padlock for large lockers: £5
    Tokens and padlocks can be purchased at reception.

Changing Facilities

  • Male, female and accessible changing rooms are available.
  • Six team changing rooms are provided, along with additional referee changing areas.

Public Ice Skating

How do I book?

Bookings can be made:

  • Online
  • Via the Better UK app
  • At the centre

Age Restrictions

  • Minimum age: 3+
  • Under 8s must be accompanied on the ice by a parent or legal guardian.
  • Ages 8+ may skate independently.

Dress Code

There is no formal dress code, but skaters are encouraged to wear:

  • Warm clothing
  • Gloves
  • Thick socks
  • Clothing that covers arms and legs

Spectators

Spectators are welcome for an additional fee. Please check the venue’s price list for details.

Skate Sizes

  • Smallest size: Junior UK 7
  • Largest size: UK 15

Minimum Age

  • Minimum age: 3+
  • Skates available from child size UK 7

Private Lessons

  • Private lessons with ice skating coaches will be available (details coming soon).
  • Private group lessons will also be available.

Equipment Available

The spacious, fully equipped gym includes:

  • 70+ pieces of Technogym equipment
  • Functional training space
  • Extensive free weights
  • Dedicated cardio and strength zones

Do I need a membership?

  • Membership is recommended but not required.
  • Pay‑As‑You‑Go options are available.

Better Health UK Membership

Members with a Better Health UK membership can use the gym and fitness classes at Lee Valley Ice Centre.

Gym Pricing

Non‑members can check Pay‑As‑You‑Go prices online.

Junior Gym

Available for ages 11–17.

Are there clubs I can join?

Yes:

  • Lee Valley Lions – Ice hockey
  • Lee Valley London Skating Club – Synchronised skating
    The centre also partners with additional skating groups and clubs.

Is curling available?

The venue cannot cater for professional curling groups.
