Fitness Classes

Whatever your level of fitness, everyone is welcome at one of our many fitness classes; we just ask you let the instructor know if you are a beginner.

We have a wide range of daily fitness classes at the Whitehaven Sports Centre, from those focused on Mind & Body, to Strength & Conditioning, and Cardio, so you should find the perfect way to keep active and have fun.

Group Cycle

Pedal your way fit. Cycle along with the group in one of our many themed classes from uplifting music to rocky themes and much more, focus on achieving your goals in one of these instructed classes.

Circuit Training

Push your workout to the next level with high intensity circuit training. Circuit routines provide a rigorous, all-body workout as you tackle a sequence of physical challenges designed to get you fitter and stronger, from bodyweight to runs to resistance weights all fresh designs to make your class more exciting than ever!

Functional Fitness

Get better strength and balance. This session is designed to help you prepare your body for daily tasks and get fit at the same time by simulating common movements and muscles you use every day helping build a foundational strength to keep you moving throughout the day whilst getting fit at the same time.

Step Aerobics

Step it up and get in great shape. A simple yet motivational class using a step and upbeat music for a high intensity workout. It’s so much fun, you’ll forget you’re working out!

Body Conditioning (45-45)

This style of body conditioning uses two 45 minute intervals of group cycle and circuits to really test your fitness and endurance, this class will push your limits on both sections of the workouts keeping you pushing further and further and still enjoying the climb to your goals!

HIIT

Push yourself to the limit with a burst of intensity in a quick span of time , intense bursts of exercise, followed by short recovery periods that will keep your heart rate constantly going up and down to burn the best calories per  the second & help you smash your goals. If you want intensity in a class full of motivational people of all ages and abilities, try a HIIT class near you.

Pilates

Gently train your physique and improve core strength in a calming, yet challenging atmosphere. Pilates exercises focus on lengthening and strengthening muscles while challenging the core, to build a focused and healthy you working muscles you won’t have worked before but using techniques to keep it fun and challenging.

Body Conditioning (Kettlebells)

This full body workout is achieved through high reps & non-cardio exercises using kettlebells and body weight, with a variety of schemes and plans to keep you on your toes and always pushing in new and exciting ways.

Basics & Beginner Group Cycle

Designed to ease you into group cycle classes in order for you to pedal your way fit. Cycle along with the group in one of our many themed classes from uplifting music to rocky themes and much more, focus on achieving your goals in one of these instructed classes.

Seniors & Beginners Body Conditioning

A simplified body conditioning class tailored towards beginners and people with potential mobility and back issues. This full body workout is achieved through high reps & non-cardio exercises using body bars, barbells, dumbbells and body weight, with a variety of schemes and plans to keep you on your toes and always pushing in new and exciting ways.

Better At Home

Some of the classes available through the Better Home

Better has a large library of over 600 virtual classes available for free for those with memberships.

These classes can be accessed via the Better UK App, and while you will need to ‘Sign Up’ with a new login, it is a quick and easy process.

The virtual classes and talks fall into one of these categories; Bootcamp, Box & Fight, Cardio, Cycling, Dance, Pilates, Strength, Stretch & Recover, Wellness, Yoga. So there is something available for everyone!
