Everyone at Dunston Leisure Centre would like to wish one of our members, Dom, the very best of luck as he prepares to compete at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.

Dom secured his place at the event after qualifying at Ironman Barcelona last year, an achievement that reflects the incredible dedication, discipline and commitment he has shown throughout his training journey.

Many of our regular customers and staff will recognise Dom from his early morning swimming sessions, where he can often be found in the pool at 6:30am several times a week. Alongside his swimming training, Dom is also a familiar face in the gym and sauna, making full use of the facilities at Dunston Leisure Centre as part of his preparation.

The Ironman World Championships is regarded as one of the toughest endurance events in the world, bringing together athletes from across the globe who have earned their place through qualifying performances. Taking place in Kona, Hawaii, the event represents the pinnacle of long-distance triathlon competition.
Dom's qualification is a fantastic achievement and serves as an inspiration to other

members, demonstrating what can be accomplished through consistency, determination and hard work.
As Dom heads to Hawaii for the Ironman World Championships, everyone at

Dunston Leisure Centre wishes him the very best of luck. His dedication to training has been clear to see, and staff and customers alike will be cheering him on from home.

Good luck, Dom. We look forward to following your journey and seeing how you get on in Hawaii.
