Track Tandem Pilot Training
Price: FREE
Age: 18+ years
Minimum height: 145cm / 4ft 9ins
Training for track cyclists to learn how to pilot a tandem on the track for blind or visually impaired riders.
In this session you'll learn the basics of tandem riding both as pilot and stoker, and be tutored on the key aspects of working as a pilot with a non-sighted stoker. The session is progressive and pilots are encouraged to learn and practice at a level that they're comfortable with.
You can attend as many sessions as you wish, and once fully trained can volunteer as a pilot for our Para-cycling sessions, which is both highly rewarding and a great workout! Sessions are free and bikes are included. You don't need to have any tandem experience before, though you must be a Stage 4 accredited rider.
