It is not long now until the Better Club Games. Swindon residents are invited to take part in the annual over 60’s Sport & Physical Activity Competition to be held at the Rivermead Leisure Complex in Reading on Friday 18th May.

The multi-sport event takes place from 10am until 4pm, and will include competitive swimming, table tennis, badminton, walking football, short tennis and pickleball. The day is all about having fun and socialising so do not be worried if you have not played sport for a while. For those Swindon residents interested in becoming more active this is an event that can get their new fitness regime started.

We deliver weekly sessions in the local leisure centre and there will be sessions leading up to the Club Games to get individuals ready for the big day. Anyone interested can brush up on their sporting skills at their local Better Leisure Centre in Swindon from as little as £3.00 per session.

Rod Noble, Community Sports Manager for West Oxfordshire, comments: "Our sessions are all about having fun and socialising. They have been designed to suit all abilities and levels of fitness. We hope to encourage older members of the community to become more active and enjoy the health and social benefits that getting involved can offer.
