It’s Been 10 Years Since London 2012!

Overlooking the iconic 2012 Olympic velodrome track at Lee Valley VeloPark, this exhibition will take you on a journey from that wonderful summer of sport in 2012 through all the extraordinary achievements since then, and focuses on what is to come in terms or sport, housing, jobs and opportunities for communities

 

Come and take a selfie with Wenlock the London 2012 mascot, have a close up look at Olympic and Paralympic medals, view the Olympic and Paralympic torches and even part of the London Stadium track(!)

 

You'll also be able to see one of the jackets worn at the Paralympics Opening Ceremony, decorated with printed text from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and conceptual models for the opening of the Paralympic Games.

 

See the transformation that London 2012 started, find out about the evolving legacy at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and chart the journey of the Paralympics movement. Discover the fantastic London 2012 venues, including Lee Valley VeloPark, which played host to visitors from all over the world and learn about the impact they have had on their local communities and on UK sports over the last ten years.

This exhibition is free and open to all, no ticket neccessary. It's open during venue opening hours which you can check here*

 

To access the exhibition, head inside Lee Valley VeloPark to the concourse via reception. There is a lift available at reception. Along from the exhibition is Café 42 Degrees where you can purchase a hot drink to enjoy whilst taking a look ☕

 

*Please note; the exhibition will be closed from Saturday 8 July - Tuesday 9 August due to the Birmingham Commonwealth Games which Lee Valley VeloPark is hosting this summer
