London is set for a landmark summer of international hockey in 2027 as EuroChamps27 arrives in the capital, with Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre confirmed as a host venue for the opening stages of the tournament.

The Olympic legacy venue will stage the group matches and quarter finals of the EuroHockey Championships, welcoming Europe’s best men’s and women’s teams to one of the world’s leading hockey facilities. The championships will run from 28 July to 8 August 2027 and will feature 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams.

Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre has been at the heart of international hockey in England for more than a decade. Since opening after the London 2012 Games, the venue has hosted 14 major international events, including the last EuroHockey Championships held on English soil in 2015.

The tournament will take place during a milestone year for Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, as it celebrates its 60th anniversary.

Shaun Dawson, Chief Executive of Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, said:

“As we mark the 60th anniversary of Lee Valley Regional Park, we’re thrilled to be welcoming the prestigious EuroHockey Championships 2027 to Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre. We can’t think of a more fitting way to celebrate this milestone than welcoming huge crowds for thrilling live international sport.”

The championships will build towards a dramatic conclusion at The Twickenham Stoop, where the semi finals and finals will be played in a transformed big stadium hockey setting. For the first time, the men’s, women’s and Hockey ID finals will all be staged at the same venue, underlining the event’s commitment to equality and inclusion.

Former England and Great Britain captain and current England Hockey President Alex Danson-Bennett highlighted the impact of bringing the event back to London:

“What excites me most about EuroChamps27 is the commitment to making it genuinely accessible and affordable. This event is about opening the doors to hockey and inspiring the next generation of players, fans and volunteers.”

With home nation teams guaranteed throughout the tournament and affordable ticket pricing aimed at families and new fans, EuroChamps27 promises to be the biggest and boldest celebration of European hockey ever staged,  with Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre once again at its heart.
