New hockey season kicks off at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre

September is always a special time at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, as the pitches burst back into life with the return of our hockey clubs and university teams. The new season promises fast paced matches, local rivalries and plenty of action for players and supporters alike.

We’re delighted to welcome back our home clubs - East London HC, Crostyx HC, Wapping HC, Waltham Forest HC and Plashet HC - who will be competing across the England Hockey National Leagues as well as the East and London Leagues. 

University hockey also returns in style, with teams from Barts, Queen Mary, Goldsmiths, UAL, Royal University College Medical School, UCL, LSE and City St. George’s competing in the BUCS and LUSL leagues. 

The season begins with our very own LV University Cup on Sunday 28 September, followed by the LV University Mixed Cup on Sunday 5 October, where we’ll also welcome guest teams from KCL, Surrey, Royal School of Mines and the Royal Veterinary College (RVC).

With so many clubs and universities calling Lee Valley home, the months ahead are set to be filled with energy, skill, and sporting spirit. We wish every team the best of luck and can’t wait to see supporters join us in making this a season to remember.
